Firstly, could you please introduce yourselves?
Maximum The Hormone's vocalist/guitarist and main songwriter, Maximum The Ryou-kun.

How did you all meet each other?
We were chasing dandelion seeds in a flower garden, the four of us ran into each other, and Maximum the Hormone was born.

Where did the name "Maximum the Hormone" come from?
Because we like the so-called "hormone" style barbeque. Because we wanted to create a band that had energy similar to male and female hormones being secreted to the max.

Playing at Rock In Japan Festival is a pretty big opportunity; what was it like?
Everyone who participated in the show ate the free food the whole time.

What musicians influenced you?
Ramones, Queers, Mike Patton, SYSTEM OF A DOWN, SNOT, NIRVANA, NOFX...etc.

On the Debu Vs Debu DVD, it looks like you have a lot of fun in the studio. How do you go about writing songs?
I go in the studio by myself and write songs while I play with my dick.

You seem to have a lot of fun onstage; who is the biggest practical joker in the band?
There are no jokers. We're all idols!

What is your favorite song to play live?
All of them.

Which songs are you most proud of and why?
All of them.

Is there any particular artist you would like to collaborate with in the future?
No.

What is your most memorable experience in the band so far?
When we made an appearance in the musical "The Lion King."

Do you have any funny stories from being on tour?
On the day before Valentine's day, the four of us got together and made chocolate.

What is your drink of choice?
Itoen's Catechin Suppli.

How has being famous changed your lives?
We got fatter.

Do you have any plans to tour outside of Japan in the future?
No plans, but we'd definitely like to do it.
