Introduction
All-girl band Tsu Shi Ma Mi Re's name supposedly means something along the lines of "to be smeared", and that is what happens to every unsuspecting genre in their path. Having just finished their most recent tour, guitarist, vocalist, and lyricist Mari answers a few questions about what's coming up for the band.

Tsu Shi Ma Mi Re
Hana: This month Tsu Shi Ma Mi Re is going on their second US tour. Are you excited?

Mari: Of course! I want everyone to listen to how much better we've gotten! I'm very eager.

H: Do you plan on doing anything other than rock?

M: Meet you! Actually, I haven't thought much about things other than lives. But I want to get some cute souvenirs. I'm also really bad at English, so I think I'm going to work on that and make some friends.

H: How much has Tsu Shi Ma Mi Re grown from last year's tour?

M: I don't think I was a professional through last year, because I was doing a job as well as the band. This year, the three of us have done about 50 shows, written new songs, and now we practice seriously, so I've come to be confident in our shows. I think I've gotten more powerful.

H: The clever lyrics in "Pregnant Fantasy" were mainly about sex and food. What did you write about this time?

M: This demo CD-R is titled "LOVE&PEACE&BOU". I think you can tell what they're about from the titles.

1. ii TEMPO desu. (It's a Good Tempo.)
"Exercising at your own tempo, go toward what you want to do!" is the feeling of this song.

2. CHANDAN danshi (Chandan Boy)
Do you know the fragrance of Chandan incense? This is a love song. It's a song singing of a girl's complicated heart and the tactics of the boy who loves her and calls her a princess.

3. na mellow (Namerou)
There's a recipe made of a fish you can catch in the Chiba port called "iwashi" (sardine) mixed with miso, onion, and ginger called "namerou". Putting "namerou" and "mellow" together, it's a song about the sorrow of a fisherman's family, sung Enka style.

4. MAMA no uta (Mama's Song)
A song thinking of the mother you love. It sings of how she wouldn't settle down and the love you recieved from her.

5. sekai heiwa to BOU (World Peace and Bou)
The lyrics are nonsense, but it's fun. It's a song praying for world peace. It has the feeling of "thinking about ridiculous things is the best". I think it has a lot of meaning underneath...

I wonder if that explains it?

H: Lastly, does your Jaguar have a name?

M: Yeah... it's simple. It's "Jagako" because it's a girl... (laugh)
