Guitar Vader
What's the biggest challenge Guitar Vader has faced?
Ujuan: When our CDs aren't selling. Even now that hasn't changed.

How would you describe Guitar Vader's sound?
Ujuan: I think our style encompasses a lot of rock music from the 1960s up to now.

Who has influenced Guitar Vader?
Ujuan: The Beatles, The Clash, The Stone Roses and Nirvana.

What is your inspiration for music and lyrics?
Ujuan: I (Ujuan) take inspiration from movies. For instance, Terry Gilliam and Tim Burton.

What equipment do you use?
Ujuan: My bass is a Musicman Stingray, and I use a Sansamp effects pedal. Miki's guitar is a Fender Stratocaster, and she uses a Boss Turbo Distortion pedal.

What are you future tour plans?
Ujuan: We plan on touring Japan sometime in May.

What prompted the decision to create your label Plugs House? What difficulties did you face in setting up your record label?
Ujuan: To do music that we 100% enjoy. Money has been our biggest problem.

How has your relationship been with Yesjapan.com?
Ujuan: It's been going great.

You seem to be writing more of your songs in Japanese? Is this a conscious decision?
Ujuan: We want a lot more Japanese people to know Guitar Vader.

Your new album "Happy East" was released in October 2004. What were the main concepts with this album?
Ujuan: There was no concept for this album, but it's a little to Miki's cat.

How would you describe the style in Happy East?
Ujuan: Guitar Vader's usual pop and rock.

What do you think about having fans overseas?
Ujuan: We thank overseas fans for listening to our CDs. I think it's really too bad that we can't tour overseas.

Is there anything you'd like to say in particular to fans outside of Japan?
Ujuan: We are always thankful for your support, and we wish to continue making good music.
